My name is Courtney. I'm 21 years old - turning 22 this August! Unfortunately I've stopped looking forward to aging. Now that I can drink in the States, what's the point? I live at home while I go to school, with my parents and a younger sister. It's cheap, and I have access to a pool and a hot tub... but there are definitely drawbacks. Assuming I pass everything, I'll be finished school by the end of July, and I'll be able to look towards moving out.
I'm just finishing up my Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies with a Specialization in Finance and Administration. It's a mouthful, but I'm essentially taking a general business degree with a focus on entering a management position or becoming an entrepreneur. Lots of accounting, lots of business/management decision making classes, a fair bit of economics... add in a good helping of marketing, human resources/organizational behaviour, operations management... and top it off with a little math, business law, and computers. Somewhere in there I managed to take English (fantasy and science fiction), Philosophy, Psychology, Latin, and a Classics course. Man, will I ever be glad when it's over with.
I work at the Bank of Montreal as a Customer Service Representative... AKA bank teller. Working in customer service has brought me to the realization that I hate people. Actually, I just hate stupid people - but there are so many of them, it's just easier to say that I hate people. I'm hoping to quit there soon, and get a "real" job once I'm done school. Something that I would consider sticking with for the rest of my life... at least a good portion of it.
If there's anything that defines me, it's my obsession with animals. Other than a few select invidivuals, they're the only creatures that I deem worthy of my trust and unconditional love. People come and go, animals will love you forever. I'll stop there, otherwise we'll have to start getting into my relationship problems, and that's no fun. I'll introduce the special characters in my life in another post. I've been horseback riding for about 15 years. I've ridden at a couple of different barns, and I've had a lot of great experiences. I've recently been stalled in this area, because of financial issues... but once I have time to work full time, I should have enough money again.
Well, I think that's about it. I pay a lot of money for the privilege of working my butt off and boring myself to death, and I get paid a very little bit of money to talk to horrible people with horrible problems. I am a die hard horse lover who hasn't ridden in months, and won't be riding for at least a couple more.... and it's killing me. I think that gives you enough of an idea about me... doubtless you'll get further acquainted if you keep reading my blog :)
